State BOE votes to close 2 Fayette schools

The West Virginia Board of Education voted to close two Fayette County schools in the New Haven district at its Wednesday meeting by a vote of 6 to 2. Despite pushback from some parents, teachers, and county school board members, Danese Elementary and Nuttall Middle will be shuttered this July.

Raleigh County earned a “B” in smoke-free regulation, according to the State of Tobacco Control 2012 scorecard released by the American Lung Association.
